There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where casino gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the common table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel building that highlights numerous conveniences in addition to the gambling den, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
