Learning From My Gambling Errors
First to explain the reason I wrote this essay. I have been gambling on the net or at land-based betting houses for many years. I have learned, the dependency can grab a hold of you and you won’t even notice it until you are bankrupt. Especially if you are on a winning streak. I have gone through many tens of thousands of dollars in only a short amount of time and still on occasion, I’ll go too far. It seems you are just having fun until you start to be aware of your loss and the guilt sets in, and then you continue to tell yourself "I can earn it back" repeatedly. It does not works. Then you feel queasy in your gut and the more you try the quicker you are deprived.
When you notice that you’re up, remain on the UP! When you start to be beaten, don’t tell yourself, "well perhaps one more" and over and over again, trust me, this method hardly ever functions. Say you are playing on slots, have an amount set to the side prior to starting your play. DO NOT go over that boundary, regardless how alluring. If you happen to win, put that in a different canister. Don’t use your successes no matter what. As soon as you’ve gambled through your primary set limit, stop. Head out, regardless if it is on the net or at a land based casino, do not stick around. Always keep in mind, there is going to be a different day, a different time.
Keep in mind, betting is supposed to be FUN not exhausting, nauseating work! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, you do not belong there. If youcan not afford the loss, don’t even start.
